A possible front cover. The text doesn’t reflect whats inside (the image does). But this is just to grab peoples attention and get them to pick up a copy. Also, acts as a refreshing splash of colour before a whole booklet of greyscale. I want the cover to be printed on maybe 200 gsm but the content pages to be a lot thinner and flimsier.
After the book project is out of the way, I’m going to get involved with working on a competition brief posted by D&AD. Uncertain which one yet, but the Little White Lies magazine cover sounds pretty exciting.
Today we were assigned the task of creating and compiling double page spreads for a topic given to small groups randomly. Our groups topic was fashion with sub categories such as; the suit, hats, black, spring trends. I designed the double page for the magazine dedicated to hats which definitely helped me understand magazine layout and grids further. I would like to revisit this one day project and do the final touch ups that I could not complete in time. Hopefully we will all improve the pages of the magazine and bind it together to make a professional looking magazine (thick matte paper possibly?)
